Overview

The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for providing leadership and direction for day-to-day field operations of the assigned projects, ensure the safety of our employees, keep morale high, ensure a high quality and productive installation, and maximize profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe and secure work environment through job safety analyses, safety meetings, incident investigations and employee involvement.
  • Provides key leadership direction for field operations on a project to ensure a cohesive team in conjunction with project management.
  • Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
  • Manages field personnel priorities relating to technical ability and staffing levels to gain greater efficiencies to improve customer satisfaction and reduce cost. Includes working with the General Superintendent and Operations Manager to coordinate hiring of staff, conducting performance reviews, recommending salary changes and resolving internal personnel issues.
  • Responsible for coordinating all site construction activities and supervising all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all trade and field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities.
  • Performs material take-offs, tool order requisition, and equipment rental requisitions in a timely fashion to maximize field productivity.
  • Coordinating of installation between trades and coordinating subcontractor progress.
  • Ensures all on-site employees comply with OSHA standards and company work rules.
  • Schedules equipment deliveries with the project management and General Contractor and periodic inspections by governing authorities.
  • Ensures compliance with state, local, and federal legal requirements.
  • Ensures the quality of work is installed per project requirements and Company standards.
  • Conducts Staff Meetings with Foreman and field personnel, addressing management issues as well as safety and productivity improvements.
  • Responsible for projects financial labor, material and other cost type budgets and goals.
  • Works with project team to make certain start-up and commissioning is executed in accordance with company and project standards.
  • Assists in coordinating and quality assurance of drafting resources and fabrication/manufacturing on the project.
  • Maintains company culture.
  • Implements field productivity improvements, assures project compliance and quality assurance.
  • Maintains Customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of verifiable experience as a Superintendent on plumbing and/or HVAC commercial construction projects
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial construction (hospitals, high rise hotels, casino’s, office buildings, etc.).
  • At least 6 months of safety training and current OSHA 10 OR 30 certification
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications

  • State Mechanical, HVAC, or Plumbing Contractors License
  • Medical gas certification
  • Large ($10M+) commercial construction experience
  • Experience with prefabrication
  • Experience with P6 Primavera 

Travel Requirements

  • 0-5% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.

Physical/Work Environment Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Climbing stairs.
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often kneeling, standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds. 
  • Elevated and/or cold temperature environments for prolonged periods of time. 

Pay Range

USD $88,380.00 - USD $117,970.00 /Yr.
